Sri Lanka National Arts Festival Celebrates Cultural Diversity in Kandy
Kandy, Sri Lanka – August 19, 2025 – The vibrant city of Kandy is currently playing host to the annual National Arts Festival, a grand celebration of Sri Lanka’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. The festival, which commenced earlier this week and will run for ten days, showcases a wide array of traditional and contemporary art forms from across the island nation, including music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and crafts.
The festival’s opening ceremony, held at the historic Kandy Lake Round, was a spectacular display of traditional Sri Lankan drumming, Kandyan dance performances, and vibrant costumes.
