COLOMBO, SRI LANKA (Tuesday, February 3, 2026) — Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has officially announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, confirming that seasoned all-rounder Dasun Shanaka will lead the co-hosts into the tournament. In a dual announcement, the cricket board also confirmed that physical ticket sales for the marquee event will open to the public starting tomorrow morning.

The selection brings a mix of experienced campaigners and fresh talent, as the Lions aim to reclaim the trophy on home soil.

🏏 Squad Announcement: Shanaka to Lead; Big Names Return

The 15-man squad sees the return of several key players who were notably absent from the recent T20I series against England. Kusal Janith Perera and Kamindu Mendis have been drafted into the final list, providing a significant boost to the middle and top-order batting.

However, the most significant omission is that of senior player Dhananjaya de Silva, who has been dropped from the T20 setup. The move highlights a shift toward more aggressive batting options and specialized T20 skill sets.

The Full 15-Man Squad: Dasun Shanaka (c), Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Janith Perera, Charith Asalanka, Kamindu Mendis, Janith Liyanage, Pavan Rathnayake, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Matheesha Pathirana, and Eshan Malinga.
